If the oak wine barrels that are used to store and age wine are not properly maintained and repaired, they can become ‘mushy’ and ruin the wine that is stored in them. In this image, taken by the French photographer Charles Delius, a craftsman performs repairs to ensure that the barrels in his charge are spared such a fate.
